Silence of Cebongan Lake
In this section, I will tell you about the bonus sight when going down Sikunir Hill, namely Cebong Lake. This lake is located in the western foothills and resembles a tadpole. Lake Cebong is a volcanic lake formed from ancient volcanic eruptions thousands of years ago. According to local residents, there were many frogs that lived and breed here. That is what makes this tourist place called Cebong. Initially the Lake Cebong has an area of about 18 Ha, but over time it begins to narrow and remains around 12 Ha. Lake Cebong is adjacent to Sikunir Terminal. That morning at around 7:00 am. I started down the Sikunir hill. The trip was relatively faster than when climbing, then I arrived at Sikunir Terminal. This lake water sparkle was a special moment to be memorialized by visitors. There are many tents around Lake Cebong used byvisitors to stay overnight before hiking Sikunir Hill. Visitors also easily
access food and drinks because in the Sikunir terminal area there are many coffee shops that also sell special food, such as: mendoan tempe, roasted corn and even grilled sausages. I chose one of the stalls for coffee. The stall I visit is managed by a couple who are native to Sembungan Village. Our chat flowed about Telaga Cebong, its legend, and tourism in Sembungan Village, to the benefits of lake water to irrigate fields belonging to local farmers.
Camping here is the right choice to save costs. Visitors can spend the night by installing tents. For visitors who do not bring tents, there is no need to worry because many local residents who rent tents with rates vary depending on the capacity of the tent. Facilities around the lake are also complete, such as prayer rooms, toilets, bathrooms, to a large parking area. For cooking purposes, it is not recommended to take water from the lake. This
is because the water conditions are cloudy and not suitable for consumption. You should buy a few bottles of mineral water in a shop around Telaga Cebong. In the morning, around 09.00 am, the Cebong Lake tourism activity began. Visitors can enjoy walking around the lake by renting a boat. Visitors will be spoilt for scenery around Telaga Cebong surrounded by beautiful hills in the form of potato farming, Carica trees and Dieng chillies. The air temperature around Telaga Cebong is very cool, making tourists feel comfortable.
