As you are all aware that India is facing major water scarcity crisis, it is good to see that MMI India is organising IFAT India, that will showcase technologies and solutions in water, waste management, sewage, refuse and recycle. IFAT India is also a platform of national and international companies who can address their queries to the Government and we will be happy to support you all. This is also one of the most important aspects towards building Smart cities in the future. Besides this, a strong line up of accompanying programs will make it more interesting for the trade visitors to stay updated and informed. This kind of platform can provide the local State Municipality authorities the option to evaluate latest environmental technologies, not only from one company, but many companies from different countries.”
Mr. Michael Siebert, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Mumbai said, “it is obvious that IFAT has become a household name in India, in everything related to water. Apart from the country pavilions which have a strong German contingent, there are about 10 companies as a part of the German Water Partnership, which means over 30 German companies are bringing in latest technology in water and waste water to India. The rapid economic growth in India has led to a surge in industrialisation on one hand and urbanisation on the other, putting enormous pressure on natural resources in the country, posing a great challenge to human health and to sustainable development in general. I am very happy to state that IFAT India 2015 is bringing about awareness in these domains and offering proactive solutions.”
Mr. Igor Palka, COO & Member of Management Board, MMI India said, “IFAT India plays an important role for the Indian environmental needs in the light of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Campaign). Increasing urbanization and greater environmental consciousness in India are leading to a growing demand for modern environmental technologies and services. This in turn may result in large investments to develop and upgrade the environmental services. In this context, IFAT India plays a major role by connecting buyers and sellers of this technology under one roof. IFAT India this year and in the coming years will steadily grow and gain importance in the Indian environmental market.
IFAT India for the first time showcased the live demonstration, which took the expo to another level by making the experience ‘real’ for the visitor. In addition to this, there were stalls, that displayed technology related to water. These live demonstrations helped the exhibitors to bring about an added dimension to their presentation and help them garner wider eyeballs, showcasing product features, advantages and its practical application. Also, from an operational perspective, questions around the functioning of the technology was being fielded and answered. For this purpose additional space was made available outdoors, next to exhibition hall 5 at the Bombay Exhibition Center (BEC) in Mumbai. This particular feature by itself was catapult the Indian edition of IFAT, to be reckoned among the leading global expos in this sector.
IFAT India as an international fair and meeting point is an important supporting element for the development of this subcontinent. In comparison to its purchasing power parity India boasts the third biggest gross domestic product. And further growth is possible, thanks to the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who among other things promised to tackle infrastructural problems and follow a new economic strategy. IFAT India provides a perfect platform for the exchange of knowledge and ideas.
